Obituary, Ann M. Macrillo

 

Poughquag – Ann M. Macrillo of Poughquag, passed away on December 18, 2015 at Northern Westchester Hospital surrounded by he loving family. She was 54.

Born on March 11, 1961 in Glendale, NY to Margaret Filipovich Lewandowski and the late William F. Lewandowski.

She was a communicant of St. Mary, Mother of The Church. In 1987 Ann married Christopher Macrillo in Holy Trinity Church.

Ann was passionate about the importance of family and friends. That passion also motivated her dedication and contributions to the community. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother. For a time, she loved working as a tutor for the Arlington School District, especially with those students who disliked math. She was a board member of Autism Directory Services and served on the organizing committee of several past local walks for autism. She was a resource and advocate for parents of children with special needs and she helped run a support group for parents of children with autism. She was an organizer of the initial and several subsequent reunions of her high school class (John Jay High School Class of 1979) because she cherished the life-long friendships that were started there.

Ann is survived by her beloved husband Christopher, Loving Son Alan, Dear Mother Margaret Lewandowski, Dear Sister Barbara Lewandowski, loving brothers William Lewandowski and his wife Jacqueline, John Lewandowski and his wife Barbara and James Lewandowski, Her brother and sister in laws Philip Macrillo and his Rebecca, Mark Macrillo, Thomas Macrillo, Loretta Walsh and her husband Terence. Her mother and father in law Vincent and Eleanor Macrillo, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Tuesday December 22, 2015 from 4-8pm at  1028 Main St, Fishkill. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday December 23, 2015 at 10am at St. Mary, Mother of The Church. Entombment will follow in Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
