State Police investigate fatal crash on Interstate 684

Bedford, New York – At approximately 5:49 a.m., New York State Police from the Somers barracks responded to a two-car fatal motor vehicle collision in the southbound lanes of Interstate 684. As a result of this crash, Southbound Interstate 684 at Route 35 (Exit 6) will be closed until further notice for collision reconstruction.
Traffic is being detoured onto the service road at Exit 6. Cars will continue to the Saw Mill Parkway southbound. Trucks will use the Route 117 bypass to Route 172, back onto I-684 at Exit 4.
Heavy traffic delays exist.
