New York State Police from Livingston investigate Valatie homicide

**UPDATE**
At approximately 2:30 a.m. this morning, Mr. Agan was arraigned in Town of Livingston Justice Court and remanded to the Columbia County Jail without bail.  He was charged with Murder 2nd Degree, a Class A-1 Felony.

Kinderhook, New York – On December 10, 2015, at approximately 1:50 pm,  New York State Police from the Kinderhook barracks responded to the Valatie Medical Arts building located on River St. in Valatie, NY for a reported assault.  Subsequent investigation into this incident determined that Ms. Christina Agan, 37 years old, of Kinderhook, NY had been a victim of a fatal stabbing.

State Police investigation determined that Ms. Agan had been stabbed by her estranged husband, David T. Agan, age 42 of Valatie, NY,  who then fled the scene and was later located by area patrols while operating his personal vehicle on Route 4 in the Town of East Greenbush.

Upon his apprehension, Mr. Agan was then transported to the Albany Medical Center for possibly ingesting an unknown type and quantity of a prescription medication prior to him being stopped.

Upon being released from the hospital, Agan was transported to SP Livingston where he was arraigned and ultimately remanded to the Columbia County jail for the charge of Murder in the 2nd Degree, a Class A-1 Felony.  He is currently being held without bail.
