Newburgh Man Arrested after Pursuit

PRESS RELEASE

Paul D. Koksvik, aged 53 of Newburgh, NY was arrested by the New York State Police in Kingston after a pursuit which ended in the Town of Olive.  Koksvik was reported to be traveling southbound in the northbound lane on Interstate 87.  Koksvik exited the Thruway in Kingston proceeding west on St-28 when his car was stopped in the Town of Ulster by the Thruway State Police.  Koksvik fled from the traffic stop, continuing west on St-28, traveling at an excessive speed through the Towns of Ulster, Kingston, Hurley continuing into the Town of Olive where he was stopped by pursuing police.  Koksvik was taken into custody and charged with Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer and Resisting Arrest and arraigned in the Town of Olive Court.  The State Police were assisted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Department, the Town of Olive Police and the NYCDEP Police.
