Livingston, New York – On Friday, November 27, 2015, at approximately 3:40 a.m., a citizen contacted the New York State Police to inform them that he suspected the presence of a baby outside the XtraMart, Bells Pond, Livingston, New York.  Troopers responded at approximately 3:52 a.m.  Their search failed to reveal the presence of any child.

Thereafter, the NYSP received additional information which resulted in their discovery of a male newborn in a garbage bag in a dumpster.  EMTs of the Greenport Rescue squad were on the scene and determined that the baby was deceased.

Subsequently, Coroner Michael Blasl directed that an autopsy be performed at St. Peter’s Hospital by Pathologist Jeffrey Hubbard, M.D.  Dr. Hubbard has determined the cause of death to be homicide, more specifically, asphyxiation.
