Carmel Man Charged With DWI

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Carmel man on a DWI charge.

On November 21, 2015 at 3:10 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Kevin Radovich stopped a motorist who committed traffic violations on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as David W. Churchill, 25, of 58 Rosedale Road, Carmel was intoxicated. The deputy arrested Mr. Churchill and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, after the man failed a series of standardized field sobriety tests. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
