Ulster County Sheriff’s Report

 

 

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of William A. Countryman, 37, of Marbletown.

Mr. Countryman was charged with Criminal Contempt in the second degree and Aggravated Harassment in the second degree, both class A misdemeanors.

On November 17th, 2015 Deputies received a complaint that Mr. Countryman had violated an Order of Protection. Further investigation revealed that the defendant had called the victim over 50 times and text messaged the victim over 40 times in violation of the court order.

Mr. Countryman was arrested and transported to the Wawarsing substation. He was arraigned in Town of Rochester Justice Court and released on his own recognizance to reappear on a later date.

 

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of John M. Ginnetti, 66, of New Haven, Connecticut.

Mr. Ginnetti was charged with the misdemeanors of Driving While Intoxicated, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (Having a BAC Greater Than .18%) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree.

On November 19th, 2015 Deputies responded to a business, located at 954 Route 28 in the Town of Kingston, for a reported suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Deputies identified Mr. Ginnetti as the operator and through investigation determined Mr. Ginnetti had operated his vehicle in an intoxicated condition.

Mr. Ginnetti was arrested and transported to the Esopus Substation. He was released with Appearance Tickets returnable to the Town of Kingston Justice Court.

 

ARREST: Members of the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office report the arrest of Thomas McDonnell, 26, of Port Ewen, New York.

Mr. McDonnell was charged with the violation of Trespass.

On November 20th, 2015, at 9:56 p.m., Deputies responded for a report of a suspicious male on New Salem Road. After Deputies arrived in the area, and spoke to the victim, Mr. McDonnell was identified as the suspect. Mr. McDonnell was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident.

Mr. McDonnell was arrested and transported to the Esopus substation. He was arraigned in Town of Esopus Justice Court, released on his own recognizance and ordered to reappear on a later date. Further, an order of protection was issued by the court.

 

Ulster County to Participate in Statewide STOP-DWI Thanksgiving Crackdown Enforcement Effort.

Ulster County Sheriff Paul Van Blarcum, announced today that County police agencies will participate in an Impaired Driving Crackdown Wednesday, November 25th – Sunday, November 29th, 2015.

Law enforcement officers across New York State will take to the roads in an effort to stop impaired driving, prevent injuries and save lives. The New York State Police, county sheriffs and municipal law enforcement agencies across the state will be out in force.

Research shows that high-visibility enforcement can reduce drunk driving fatalities by as much as 20 percent. Sobriety checkpoints play a key part in raising awareness about the problem.

The STOP-DWI Thanksgiving Weekend Crackdown is promoted by the New York State STOP-DWI Association with additional funding from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee and implemented by the STOP-DWI Foundation.

Highly visible, highly publicized efforts like the STOP-DWI Crackdown Campaign aim to further reduce the incidence of drunk and impaired driving.
