Armonk man arrested following Sprain Brook Parkway crash

Mount Pleasant, New York – On October 21, 2015, New York State Police from the Hawthorne barracks arrested Justin L. Campanello, 37 years old, of Armonk, New York, for Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th Degree, both Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched to a two-car auto collision that occurred on the Sprain Brook Parkway.  An investigation at the scene showed that the suspect was traveling northbound on the Sprain Brook Parkway failing to maintain his designated lane of travel. The vehicle that Campanello was operating rear-ended another vehicle, then exited the roadway and came to rest facing southbound.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the defendant was impaired by drugs at the time of the crash and was in possession of approximately 4 grams of heroin.

A State Police Drug Recognition Expert evaluated Campanello and confirmed that he was impaired by drugs.

Campanello was issued appearance tickets directing him to appear before the Town of Mount Pleasant Court on October 29, 2015 at 9:30 a.m.
