Wanted Brooklyn Man Apprehended in Nelsonville

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a wanted Brooklyn man in Nelsonville.

On October 14, 2015 at 12:54 p.m., while patrolling Main Street in the Village of Nelsonville, Deputy Sheriff Brian Aisenstat initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle and recognized the front passenger as Kevin B. Sola, 21, of 140 17th Street, Brooklyn, New York. The deputy had prior knowledge that Mr. Sola was the subject of an active bench warrant issued by Village of Cold Spring Justice Thomas Costello for failure to appear to answer charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a felony; and for Criminal Possession of Marihuana in the Fifth Degree, a misdemeanor. The deputy arrested Mr. Sola and transported him to the Village of Cold Spring Justice Court for arraignment on the charges. The defendant was subsequently released after posting $2,500.00 cash bail pending a November 18, 2015 court appearance.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant faces up to twenty five years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $30,000.
