State Police investigate fatal crash that occurred on State Route 9 in Philipstown

Philipstown, New York – On October 7, 2015 at approximately 9:58 p.m., New York State Police from the Cortlandt barracks responded to the area of State Route 9 and Old Highland Turnpike for a reported motorcycle crash.
An investigation revealed that 56-year-old Bill Jesshope of Fishkill, New York, was operating a 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic “trike” northbound on State Route 9 when he exited the roadway for an unknown reason and struck a utility pole.
Mr. Jesshope was pronounced deceased on the scene.
The State Police were assisted by the Putnam County Coroner’s Office.
