Why Walk?
More than 1.25 million Americans have Type 1 Diabetes, a disease most often diagnosed in childhood that strikes suddenly, lasts a lifetime, and carries the constant threat of deadly complications; including heart disease, stroke, blindness, kidney failure and amputation. JDRF’s mission is constant: to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. By walking and raising money to support research – each step you take brings us closer to a cure.
The “Walk to Cure Diabetes” draws people together for a worthy cause while raising money to find a cure for diabetes as well as promote healthy activity. It’s fun for families and builds awareness and camaraderie among participating corporate teams. Above all, it’s an event you will feel proud to be a part of.
