Connecticut Woman Faces Felony Assault Charge

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Connecticut woman on a felony assault charge following an incident at a local nightclub.

On September 20, 2015 at approximately 4:30 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Keith Blessing responded to a 911 report of a past assault at Kass Lounge, located at 3867 Danbury Road in the Town of Southeast. Upon arrival, the deputy encountered a female victim who reported that she had become involved in a dispute with a female acquaintance at the bar; and that the other female subject had used a beer bottle to strike and injure the victim. The suspect, identified as Heidy L. Sanchez, 23, of 66 Mill Ridge Road, Danbury, Connecticut was contacted and agreed to surrender. Deputy Blessing arrested Ms. Sanchez and charged her with Assault in the Second Degree, a felony. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.

If found guilty of the felony charge, the defendant faces up to seven years in a New York State Correctional Facility and a fine of up to $5,000.00.
