Dover High School Daily Announcements Thursday September 17th, 2015

 

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2015

 

1. Today is an “A” Day.

2. Anyone interested in joining the Youth for Diversity Club – please attend our first meeting today in room 1047 with Ms. Mangar after school.

3. All high school students please turn in your Emergency Cards ASAP.

4. The deadline to register for the October ACT Exam is Friday, September 18th. If you have any questions, please stop by the guidance office.

5. Attention Seniors – Senior Portrait Retakes will be on October 15th and 16th. You must call Lifetouch to schedule an appointment at 1-800-333-2560.

6. Community Service volunteers are needed to help out at the Wingdale Elementary Science night on October 8th from 5:30-8:30 pm. Sign up with Mrs. Cleaveland or Mrs. Conklin.

7. Applications for Driver’s Education are available in the guidance office. Please turn in your application ASAP. Classes are scheduled to being October 5th.

8. Volunteers are needed to give a student led tour of the building for the DHS Class Reunion of classes 1962-68. Please see Mrs. Conklin if interested.

9. There will be a quick Junior Honor Society meeting for all members on Monday after school in the high school gym.

10. Weight Room is open after school today with Ms. O for high school students only. See you Thursday at 2:10 pm – let’s get pumped.

11. Community Service applications to work at Wingdale Elementary are now available on the Community Service Bulletin Board by the high school main office or from Mrs. Cleaveland.

12.  Come out to the first high school Activity Night of the school year this Friday. Tickets go on sale today during both lunches.

13. A representative from the following schools will be visiting this week: Southern Vermont on Friday at 8:30 am in the guidance conference room. Please stop by the guidance office to set up an appointment or if you have any questions!

14. Attention Middle School Students – If you are interested in joining Student Council please see your class advisor. Mrs. Cleaveland for 6th grade, Mrs. Roe for 7th grade, and Mrs. Kuester for 8th grade. There are no peer elections or speeches this year. Come learn how to get involved in the fun activities your friends will be talking about.

15. There will be an informational meeting today for anyone interested in joining the Leo Club after school in room 1045.

16. The VFW in Dover is offering two scholarships for students at Dover Middle and High School. The “Voice of Democracy” is open to students in grades 9-12. The theme is “My Vision for America.” The “Patriot’s Pen” contest is available to students in 6, 7, and 8th grades. The theme is “What Freedom Means to Me”. The deadline for both essays in November 1st. Pick up applications and information in the high school guidance office.

17. The 13th Annual Black College Fair will be held on Thursday, September 24th from 6-8 pm at Poughkeepsie High School. The event will be held in the cafeteria. Stop by the guidance office if you have any questions.
