TheatreWorks New Milford Holds Casting Call for
Bell, Book & Candle

September 22 – 23

NEW MILFORD , CONN. (September 8, 2015) – TheatreWorks New Milford is seeking a cast of 3 men (ages 25 to 70) and 2 women (ages 25 to 70) for its Holiday production of the classical theatrical chestnut, BELL, BOOK & CANDLE, by John Van Druten.

Gillian Holroyd is a sensual, free spirited gal, restless in life and unlucky in love. She also happens to be a witch. When she learns that her handsome neighbor, Shep Henderson, is engaged to her old college rival, she uses every trick in the book to stop the wedding. But when, in the midst of her magical maneuvering, she finds herself falling for him, she’s left with a difficult choice: you see, witches who fall in love lose their powers. But perhaps love still has a trick or two up its own sleeve in this delectable and delightful romantic romp. BELL, BOOK & CANDLE was the inspiration for the classic film of the same name starring James Stewart, Kim Novak, and Jack Lemmon.

Auditions will be held at TheatreWorks, 5 Brookside Ave., New Milford (next to the CVS) on Tuesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 23 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

BELL BOOK & CANDLE is under the direction of Joseph Russo of New Milford.
