Beekman – After an almost 8 year battle with cancer, Gail Ann Rinehart, 60, was called to Heaven on September 3, 2015 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on June 25, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Frederick D. and Domenica C. Piquet. She was married on May 14, 1977 to Christopher E. Rinehart who survives her at home. She worked for the New York State DOCCS at Green Haven Correctional Facility in Stormville for 37 years. After her retirement in 2010, she worked part-time as a pharmacy technician at Beekman Pharmacy in Poughquag.

In addition to being a wonderful wife to Christopher, she was the beloved mother of daughters Lisa Bosworth and her husband Kevin, and Lindsay Rinehart; devoted grandmother to Riley Ann and Isabella Mary; little sister to Frederick T. Piquet, and his wife Heather; loving aunt to Frederick Jr., Tracy, Ryan, Erin, Trevor, and Jessie; and great-aunt to Lea, Michael, and Kaitlin.

During her long battle with cancer, Gail never lost her grace and courage. She always wore a bright smile and had a sense of humor that could light up a room. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her story. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Vassar Brothers Medical Center OCU, as well as Dr. Michael Maresca and the rest of the staff at Hudson Valley Hematology and Oncology in Poughkeepsie.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at , 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10am at Freedom Plains Presbyterian Church, 1168 Route 55, LaGrangeville. Interment will follow in the Freedom Plains Cemetery.
