State Police investigate fatal crash on the Taconic State Parkway

PRESS RELEASE
Stanford, New York – On August 27, 2015, at about 3:30 a.m., New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks investigated a one-car fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on the Taconic State Parkway by Nine Partners Road.

An investigation indicated that the driver was traveling northbound on the Taconic State Parkway in a 1999 Ford.  The driver exited the roadway on the western shoulder and struck a tree.

The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office. Police are unsure if alcohol and or drug contributed to the cause of the crash at this time.

The name of the driver will be released pending notification of next of kin.  There were no other passengers in the vehicle at the time of the crash.

The State Police were assisted by the Stanford Fire Department and Rescue Squad and the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office.
