Valley Stream man charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated

PRESS RELEASE

Southeast, New York – On February 7, 2015, the New York State Police from the East Fishkill barracks arrested Nicholas G. Barounis, 35 years old, of Valley Stream, New York, for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, a Misdemeanor.

Troopers were dispatched by Putnam County 911 to be on the lookout for an erratic vehicle traveling on State Route 22. Troopers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle failing to maintain its lane of travel. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Barounis, was found to be intoxicated.

Barounis supplied a breath sample that revealed a Blood Alcohol Content of .19%, more than two times the legal limit of intoxication. Barounis was issued traffic tickets ordering him to appear before the Town of Southeast Court on February 26, 2015 at 1:30 p.m.
