VOB Film Festival Announces Schedule of Labor Day Weekend Film Events
Brewster, NY……..Films accepted into the 2015 Village of Brewster (VOB) Film Festival once again hail from local Westchester, New York City and Danbury filmmakers, to as far away as Greece, Switzerland and Hong Kong.  The event has truly become a celebration of film and ideas from around the world.
“We are very proud of what we chose this year for our Festival. To see films come in from everywhere creates an open exchange of ideas, tolerance and understanding.  Many of these films are world premieres and are only available to view in the VOB,” says board member, Christopher Gladysz.
The VOB starts one day earlier this year, on Thursday, September 3rd, at Cold Spring’s Chapel Restoration on the Hudson River. This beautiful, historic church will host an evening of short films and a wine tasting.  Tickets for the event are $20.
The Festival continues on Friday, September 4th with its annual “Dinner and a Movie” night. This year it will be hosted by Bull and Barrel Brew Pub in Southeast. Dinner and a Movie will be held in one of the upstairs catering halls. “We are able to accommodate more people, and it includes a full dinner and one of Bull and Barrel’s crafted beers,” says Bob Dumont, VOBFF chairperson. The Friday feature film is “Route 30, Part 3”, a stand-alone comedy from John Putch. “It is just a very funny film and keeps in our tradition of a fun Friday evening comedy.”  Tickets are $45 per person. This event has sold out during the past two years.
The Festival continues all day Saturday, September 5th, starting with an animated series at Empire Cinemas. The afternoon slate of films continues at the Southeast Museum, and then culminates with the traditional Saturday Night Short Festival at Ryder Farm.  “Ryder Farm was very popular last year, so it is a good idea to get there early and have a picnic,” Dumont continued. Films at the Museum and Ryder Farm are free to attend.  Ryder Farm will provide farm-fresh food for sale.
Filmmaker panels will be held on Saturday morning and Sunday afternoon. The Sunday, September 6th films are shown all day at Studio Around the Corner in the Village of Brewster.  Film sessions start at 11:30am and continue through 8pm. Each session is $7.
Tickets can be booked online at VOBFilmFestival.com. Many events do sell out, so please book early. The VOB Film Festival is non-profit organization founded in 2012.
