Obituary, Judith A. Cadwallader

 

Stanfordville, NY – Judith A. Cadwallader, 78, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 29, 2018, at home. She was born on February 1, 1940, in Manhattan, NY, the daughter of the late Frank “Buck” and Vera (Preedy) McCormick.

Judy graduated from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY and later spent 42 years counseling students in the Vassar College Sociology Department. She was an avid gardener and reader, completing more than 750 books in three years, and was an equestrian and fashion model in her younger days. She traveled the world with her husband, Bob, to whale watch, free dive, descend far under water in a submarine, tour European countries, and see and experience things that few of us ever do.

In addition to her loving husband Robert H. Cadwallader, survivors include a son, Adam Thorson (Candace) of Livingston, NY; a daughter, Samantha Harris (Daniel) of East Thetford, VT; a sister, Nancy Venier of Wells, NY; two grandchildren, Hunter and Kai Harris; two nephews, Jason and Judson (Tricia) Venier; three stepchildren, Beth and Jeffrey Cadwallader and Deborah Null; a step-grandson; great-nieces; and a great-nephew.

Calling hours are Saturday, May 5, 2018, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at 7749 South Main Street, Pine Plains, NY.
