Patterson man charged with Felony DWI following one-vehicle crash

Patterson, New York – On January 19, 2017, New York State Police from the Brewster barracks arrested 29-year-old Christopher W. Scully, of Patterson, New York, for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the 1st Degree, a Class E Felony, Driving While Intoxicated with a previous conviction, a Class E Felony, and Assault 3rd Degree, a Misdemeanor.

On January 18, 2017 at approximately 10:20 p.m., Troopers were dispatched by Putnam County 911 for a reported dispute.  An investigation revealed that Scully had been involved in a one-car crash on South Lake Drive. Scully attempted to remove the vehicle he was driving from a ditch with another vehicle and failed.  He subsequently engaged in a physical altercation with family members, causing minor injuries to two.  A victim contacted 911 to request police assistance and Scully fled the area prior to police arriving on scene.

Scully was located on Rutland Drive and taken into custody.  He was charged with Felony DWI due to a previous DWI related conviction from 2013.

The defendant was arraigned in the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.  He is scheduled to appear in Patterson Court on February 14, 2017 at 5:30 p.m.
