GREENBELT, Md. — A man was hospitalized Tuesday evening after being shot while driving near a busy Greenbelt intersection in what police are calling a targeted road ambush.
The shooting happened around 5:35 p.m. near Kenilworth Avenue and Edmonston Road, an area surrounded by residential neighborhoods and commercial businesses. According to Greenbelt Police, the victim called 911 to report that his vehicle had been struck by gunfire while he was driving.
Victim Hospitalized with Non-Life-Threatening Injuries
Emergency responders arrived quickly, and the man was transported to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound. Authorities said his injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Suspect Still at Large
Police have not yet identified a suspect or determined a motive for the shooting. Investigators remained on the scene for several hours Tuesday night, searching for evidence and interviewing potential witnesses.
