OXON HILL, Md. — Detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Homicide Unit are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 25-year-old man Wednesday afternoon. Authorities are offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in the case.
Victim Identified
Police identified the victim as Nathaniel Stephon Grier, 25, of New Carrollton. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4900 block of Indian Head Highway on August 20, 2025, around 2:05 p.m.
When officers arrived, they found Grier outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Despite emergency response efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Others Injured
The shooting also injured two other individuals. A teenager was struck by gunfire but is expected to survive, as his injuries are not considered life-threatening. In addition, an adult male sustained minor injuries during the incident, though details of how he was injured have not been disclosed.
Detectives Searching for Answers
Investigators are working to determine both a motive and a potential suspect or suspects. At this time, no arrests have been made. Police have not yet released descriptions of possible suspects or vehicles connected to the case.
Authorities emphasized that community cooperation will be critical in moving the investigation forward.
