Weather Postpones Popular Car Show at Barton Orchards

POUGHQUAG, NY – The highly anticipated 10th Annual Car Show & Touch-a-Truck event at Barton Orchards has been postponed due to inclement weather. Originally scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2025, the event will now take place on Saturday, August 2, 2025.

A Decade of Family Fun at Barton Orchards

Barton Orchards, a 175-acre family-owned apple orchard and vegetable farm in Poughquag, has been a beloved destination for Hudson Valley families for over 40 years. Owned and operated by Peter Barton, the farm was originally founded by Bruce and Rose Barton in the late 1970s as a wholesale apple producer.

By the early 1990s, Barton Orchards opened to the public and became one of the first pick-your-own apple orchards in the Tri-State region. Over time, it evolved into a year-round attraction with seasonal events, farm animals, markets, and family-friendly entertainment.

Car Show and Touch-a-Truck Celebrates 10 Years

Among its most popular annual events is the Car Show & Touch-a-Truck, which marks its 10th anniversary this year. The event draws hundreds of car enthusiasts and families each summer, featuring classic and custom cars, trucks, and interactive experiences for kids.

Due to rain in the weekend forecast, organizers announced the date change on the orchard’s official Facebook page, citing safety and comfort for attendees.

“Due to the rainy weather forecast, the 10th Annual Car Show & Touch-a-Truck…has been rescheduled to Saturday, August 2, 2025.”

What to Expect on the Rescheduled Date

The rescheduled event promises an exciting lineup of activities for all ages. Here’s what attendees can look forward to on August 2:

Live Music & Great Food (including lobster rolls and ice cream)
Farm Activities including a petting zoo, farm market, and Barton’s famous apple cider donuts

No pre-registration is required. Participants can enter their vehicles on the day of the event, with line-up starting at 10:00 AM. The car show runs from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Barton Orchards remains open to visitors until 6:00 PM.
