‘We Love You. Come Home’: Search Intensifies for Missing 19-Year-Old After Crash Near Tysons Mall

FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. — A Virginia family is desperately searching for their 19-year-old son, Kyle Coleman, who vanished late Friday night after a car crash near Tysons Corner Center. Days later, his family, two police departments, and concerned community members are still looking for answers — and for Kyle.

Crash Leads to Mysterious Disappearance

Kyle, a Morehouse College freshman home for summer break, had gone out with friends on Friday evening. Around 11:20 p.m., Fairfax County 911 received an emergency alert — not from Kyle himself, but from the crash detection feature on his iPhone.

“Originally came in as an iPhone crash alert… vehicle into a tree. A lot of screaming heard in the background of the call,” a dispatcher is heard saying in a recording of the incident log.

When first responders arrived on the scene, they found Kyle’s blue Toyota Yaris crashed into a wooded area off Galleria Drive, near the Tysons mall. But to their surprise — the car was empty. There was no sign of Kyle.

Clues Left Behind

On Monday, Kyle’s parents, Cimmerian and Keith Coleman, retraced their son’s final known steps. Using the Life360 safety app, they tracked the car to a tow yard in Merrifield, where it had been impounded after the crash.

There, they made a troubling discovery: Kyle’s phone, car keys, and shoes (a pair of slides) were all left inside the vehicle. The front of the car was crumpled, with plant debris embedded in the hood and airbags deployed — yet there was no blood or visible signs of serious injury in the car.

“Right now, we’re still trying to figure out what his state of mind was when that happened,” said Keith Coleman. “Was he disoriented? Did he hit his head? We don’t know.”

A Parent’s Worst Fear

Kyle’s parents became concerned early Saturday morning when they noticed he hadn’t returned home. After repeated calls and texts went unanswered, they knew something was wrong.

“Early Saturday, I pinged him and said, ‘Hey man, are you still out?’” Keith said. “No response. That’s not like him.”

Within hours, they filed a missing persons report with Prince William County Police. Authorities are now working with Fairfax County Police to piece together Kyle’s final movements and have begun speaking with friends who were out with him that evening.

Family’s Heartfelt Plea: Come Home

The Colemans are clinging to hope that their son is out there, alive but possibly confused or scared.

“If he is alert and watching this, we want him to know — we love you. Come home, son,” Keith pleaded. “We don’t care about the car. We don’t care what led to the crash. All we care about is you.”

Cimmerian added, “Whatever happened, we will fix it. Don’t be afraid. Just come home.”

Description and How to Help

Kyle Coleman is described as:

  • Age: 19

  • Height: 5 feet 11 inches

  • Weight: 160 pounds

  • Last seen wearing: A red-and-white Morehouse College windbreaker and black running pants

He was last seen in the Tysons area near Galleria Drive, where the crash occurred.

Call for Community Support

Authorities urge anyone with information — no matter how small — to contact Prince William County Police or Fairfax County Police immediately.

As days pass with no confirmed sightings, the Coleman family’s message remains simple, powerful, and urgent:

“We love you. Come home.”
