CALVERTON, Md. – The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has identified the victim in a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred late Friday night, July 18, 2025, in the Calverton area.
The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Yaovi Magloire Guedoh of Frederick, Maryland.
Collision Details
According to MCPD, the incident happened at approximately 10:34 p.m. at the intersection of Columbia Pike and Tech Road. Officers from MCPD’s 3rd District, along with Montgomery County Fire Rescue, responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle.
Preliminary findings indicate that Guedoh was crossing Columbia Pike in a westerly direction when he was struck by a black 2020 GMC Terrain. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation.
Despite immediate life-saving efforts by emergency personnel, Guedoh was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Remained on Scene
Police confirmed that the adult driver of the GMC Terrain remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. No charges have been announced at this time, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation.

The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) is continuing its investigation and is asking for the public’s help. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has additional information is urged to contact detectives at (240) 773-6620.
This tragic incident marks another serious pedestrian fatality in the region, as officials continue working to improve road safety and reduce pedestrian-related accidents.
