Up to $10K Reward Offered for Information in Wheaton Stabbing Case

WHEATON, Md. – The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred in the early morning hours of August 2, 2025, near the intersection of Fern Street and University Boulevard West.

The attack left a male victim hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

Incident Details

According to MCPD, the stabbing happened at approximately 3:20 a.m. after 4th District officers responded to reports of a disturbance in the area.

Investigators determined that as a group of people was leaving a nearby restaurant, an altercation broke out. During the confrontation, the suspect allegedly stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene.

Emergency responders transported the injured man to a local hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Suspect Description

Police describe the suspect as:

  • Hispanic male

  • Approximately 28 years old

  • Thin build

  • Short black hair

  • Goatee

  • Ear piercing

  • Visible tattoos on both arms

At the time of the incident, the suspect was last seen wearing:

  • White Nicaragua baseball jersey with the number 16 in blue on the back

  • Royal blue baseball cap with an “N” on the front

  • Black shorts

  • White Jordan sneakers

Surveillance Video Released

MCPD has released surveillance footage showing the suspect and is urging anyone who recognizes him to come forward.

Reward for Information

Crime Solvers of Montgomery County is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for tips that lead to an arrest in the case.
