Suspects Arrested After Brick Assault on Store Employee in Prince William County

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A violent confrontation at a Dumfries gas station ended with two people arrested after one allegedly threw a brick at a store employee, police reported.

The incident occurred at the Sunoco station located at 17013 Dumfries Road on Wednesday, where Prince William County Police responded to a reported assault involving two store workers and a pair of suspects who refused to leave the property.


Suspects Identified and Arrested

The suspects have been identified as 24-year-old Jamal Haskin of Woodbridge and 22-year-old Lakira Youngblood of Washington, D.C. Both individuals now face multiple charges, including:

  • Assault and Battery

  • Trespassing


Conflict Escalates to Physical Assault

According to police, a 61-year-old male employee and his 56-year-old male acquaintance asked the two suspects to leave the Sunoco premises. When Haskin and Youngblood refused, a physical altercation broke out.

The suspects allegedly struck the store employee, and Haskin then reportedly picked up a brick and threw it, hitting the 56-year-old man. Both victims were injured, with one transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The other victim suffered minor injuries and declined further medical treatment.


Quick Police Response Leads to Arrest

By the time officers arrived on the scene, both suspects had fled the area. However, police were able to locate and detain them shortly afterward at a nearby business. The arrests were made without incident, and both individuals are now in custody.


Ongoing Investigation

Police have not yet released details about what may have prompted the suspects’ refusal to leave the property or whether there was any prior history between the parties involved.

The case remains under active investigation, and authorities have not disclosed any court dates or bond information as of yet.
