WASHINGTON, D.C. – A robbery in Northwest Washington escalated into violence early Sunday morning, leaving a victim assaulted and police searching for suspects captured on surveillance footage.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the incident occurred around 4:05 a.m. on August 4 in the 800 block of 7th Street, Northwest. Police say the suspects approached an individual on the street, stole their belongings, and then physically attacked the victim before fleeing the scene.
Surveillance Footage Released
Nearby security cameras captured images of the suspects involved, and police have since released those visuals in hopes the public can help identify and locate them.
No additional information about the extent of the victim’s injuries has been made available at this time.

Investigators are urging anyone who may recognize the suspects or have information related to the case to come forward. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment.
