Pepco Announces Limited-Time Customer Relief Fund for DC and Maryland Residents

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Pepco customers with limited to moderate incomes in Washington, D.C., and Maryland may now be eligible for financial assistance through a newly launched Customer Relief Fund.

The fund, created through a donation from Pepco’s parent company, Exelon, will be administered by The Salvation Army. It offers up to $300 per qualifying customer to help cover energy bills.

How It Works

The Salvation Army will oversee the distribution of the relief funds, determining eligibility and processing payments directly to help offset customers’ utility costs.

“The Salvation Army is proud to continue our work with Pepco to make it a sustainable reality over the long term,” said Major Wilma Mason, Area Commander for The Salvation Army National Capital Area Command.

Eligibility

The program is targeted at customers with limited to moderate income levels. Specific income thresholds and application requirements have not yet been detailed publicly, but interested residents are encouraged to contact The Salvation Army for more information on qualifications and application procedures.

Limited-Time Availability

Pepco and The Salvation Army advise that funding is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis until all relief funds are distributed.

Customers seeking assistance should reach out to their local Salvation Army office or visit Pepco’s website for updates and instructions on how to apply.
