WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was hospitalized early Saturday morning following a shooting in Southeast Washington, according to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD).
The incident occurred around 1:39 a.m. in the 2100 block of R Street, Southeast, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, but officials confirmed he was conscious and breathing at the scene.
The unidentified victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been disclosed.
As of now, police have not released a description of the suspect, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. MPD detectives are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
