Man Accused of Threatening Austintown Casino Employee Arrested, Faces Multiple Charges

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio – A man wanted in Washington, D.C., and accused of threatening an employee at the Hollywood Gaming Casino in Austintown has been arrested following a police pursuit, authorities said.

Incident at Hollywood Gaming Casino

According to a police report, the incident occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday when Al-Faud Mohommid approached a casino employee at a service window. Mohommid allegedly claimed that someone in the Sportsbook section had caused him to lose $15,000 on a horse race.

He told the employee that a horse initially listed as withdrawn had ended up racing and winning. Police say Mohommid then claimed he and his family had ties to organized crime and went so far as to assert that President Donald Trump was his godfather. He allegedly threatened to shoot the Sportsbook employee over the disputed wager.

Security escorted Mohommid off the property following the confrontation.

Police Pursuit and Firearm Threat

Shortly after the casino incident, officers spotted a vehicle believed to belong to Mohommid during an unrelated traffic stop attempt. Instead of stopping, police say Mohommid fled, leading to a pursuit.

During the chase, he allegedly extended what appeared to be a hunting rifle out of the vehicle’s window. Officers were unable to stop the vehicle at that time and ended the pursuit for safety reasons. According to the report, Mohommid kept the rifle visible until the chase concluded, at which point he placed it back inside the car.

Arrest and Charges

Mahoning County Jail records indicate that Mohommid was arrested on Monday, August 11. Court records show he is facing multiple charges, including:

  • Aggravated Menacing

  • Intimidation

  • Failure to Comply with the Signal or Order of a Police Officer

No arraignment date has been scheduled.

Outstanding Warrants from Washington, D.C.

Police also confirmed that Mohommid had active warrants in Washington, D.C. for terroristic threats. The exact details of those allegations have not yet been made public.

Ongoing Investigation

Authorities are continuing to investigate both the Austintown incident and Mohommid’s prior warrants. It remains unclear whether federal authorities will become involved given the nature of the threats and his alleged claims of organized crime ties.

Police are also working to confirm whether the hunting rifle seen during the pursuit was functional and if additional weapons were in Mohommid’s possession at the time of his arrest.
