Washington, D.C. is set to take the global spotlight as it prepares to host WorldPride 2025. And leading the charge in unforgettable festivities is the return of one of the city’s most iconic events—Washington Blade’s Pride on the Pier at The Wharf.
What started as a single-night celebration has evolved into a massive two-day festival, expanding its reach and impact for this historic occasion. Taking place on Friday, June 6 and Saturday, June 7, Pride on the Pier 2025 promises to be a dazzling fusion of music, community, and unapologetic self-expression along the city’s scenic Southwest waterfront.
A Waterfront Celebration Like No Other
Nestled on the beautiful District Pier overlooking the Potomac River, the event will unfold against a backdrop of open skies, shimmering water, and pure joy.
Friday’s festivities begin at 3 PM, with DJs and live performances setting the tone for the evening. At 7 PM, don’t miss the debut of the WorldPride Boat Parade, a breathtaking new tradition featuring more than 20 vibrantly decorated boats cruising down the Washington Channel. Expect a sea of rainbow flags, lights, and cheers in what’s sure to be one of the most photographed moments of WorldPride.
Saturday’s schedule kicks off at noon, transforming The Wharf into an all-day pride party. With non-stop music, drag shows, and a livestream of the WorldPride Parade, you’ll stay connected to the action whether you’re dancing on the pier or soaking in the riverside vibe.
As night falls, all eyes turn to the sky. At 9 PM, a fireworks spectacular—presented by the Leonard-Litz Foundation—will light up the waterfront, serving as the perfect grand finale to a weekend of love and liberation.
