Family of Missing Arlington Man with Autism Ramps Up Search Efforts

The family of Jonathan Hoang, a missing 21-year-old man with autism from Arlington, is intensifying efforts to bring him home safely. Hoang, who disappeared in late March, was last seen on a surveillance camera in Kirkland in late June.

Community Advocacy Events Launched

In hopes of reaching more people and gathering new leads, the family is organizing two public awareness campaigns this week:

  • Coffee Sleeve Campaign: A Kirkland coffee stand will distribute 500 coffee sleeves printed with Hoang’s photo and vital information. The sleeves aim to spark conversations and encourage anyone who may have seen him to come forward.

  • Honk and Wave Event: On Tuesday, friends and family will hold a honk-and-wave rally from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the intersection of Broadway and Hewitt Avenue. Volunteers will hand out flyers to passing drivers and pedestrians in an effort to expand the reach of their search.

Family Believes He’s Still Alive

Hoang’s sister, Irene Pfister, spoke to KIRO 7, sharing her belief that her brother is still out there and possibly receiving help.

“He has to be receiving help from somewhere because he has no money, he has no ID, he has no phone, he has nothing, other than himself and the clothes that he’s wearing,” Pfister explained.

Despite the challenges, the family remains hopeful, clinging to the belief that Jonathan is safe and can be found with community help.

Public Asked to Stay Alert

The family emphasizes that Jonathan is extremely friendly and approachable, and they urge the public to remain vigilant. If spotted, people are encouraged to:

  • Take a photo (if safely possible)

  • Call 911 immediately with details of the sighting

$100,000 Reward Offered

A $100,000 reward is being offered for any credible information that leads to Jonathan’s return. His family hopes the large reward will encourage people to come forward with tips, no matter how small they may seem.

Continued Support Needed

As the weeks stretch on, Hoang’s loved ones are leaning on community support and the power of awareness to bring him home.

Anyone with information is urged to contact local authorities. For those in the Kirkland and Arlington areas, even small acts—like sharing flyers or reposting social media updates—can play a crucial role in spreading the word.

Jonathan Hoang’s family won’t stop searching until he’s found. With renewed outreach efforts and the community’s support, they remain determined to bring him home safely.
