WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has issued a critical missing child alert for 9-year-old Lorenzo Hammond, who was last seen Monday afternoon in the 5300 block of Clay Street, NE.
Details of Disappearance
Lorenzo was reported missing around 2:00 p.m. on August 4. Officers from the MPD’s Youth and Family Engagement Division are leading the search and urging community members to assist in locating him.
According to police, Lorenzo is described as a Black male, approximately 4 feet tall, weighing between 80 and 90 pounds. He has brown hair, brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants, and black Crocs.
Ongoing Search Efforts
Authorities have not released details on the circumstances of Lorenzo’s disappearance but stress the urgency of finding him quickly. Patrol officers, detectives, and specialized units are working in the area, checking surveillance cameras, and speaking with residents who may have seen him.
