MASSACHUSETTS – Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE), a foster-based rescue organization, is introducing Jack, a resilient 9-year-old Chihuahua mix whose world was shattered by tragedy. Jack finds himself needing a new beginning after both his lifelong owners passed away within a devastating three-week span, leaving him suddenly homeless.
Rescued by GDRNE, Jack is now safe in a foster home, but his rescuers hope his next stop is a permanent, loving family. Remarkably, despite his profound loss and sudden upheaval, Jack’s spirit remains unbroken.
“Jack is a happy & friendly boy who is a little social butterfly,” reports his current foster caregiver, praising the small dog’s remarkable resilience. Weighing just 12 pounds, this “sweet old man” is described as a true lap dog, always ready for affection.
He thrives on “the finer things in life: soft beds, treats, and cuddles,” his foster adds, noting Jack is seeking a calm, low-energy household where he can comfortably enjoy his senior years.
Jack arrives with significant advantages for potential adopters:
-
Housebroken & Leash-Trained: Already well-mannered, requiring no intensive training.
-
Good with Other Pets: Has lived peacefully with both dogs and cats previously. “He would be fine with a resident companion, but it’s not required,” his foster clarifies.
-
Adaptable: Equally content as an only dog or with a furry sibling.
The priority, GDRNE emphasizes, is finding Jack a dedicated, loving family prepared to offer him the secure and affectionate retirement he deserves.
