State Police investigate single-engine plane crash at Dutchess County Airport

PRESS RELEASE

Wappinger, New York – At approximately 10:30 a.m., The New York State Police responded to a possible plane crash at the Dutchess County Airport, located on New Hackensack Road in the Town of Wappinger.

Following an investigation conducted with the assistance of many responding police, fire and EMS agencies, it was determined that a single-engine aircraft containing the pilot and one passenger went down right after take-off, just west of Jackson Road.

Both occupants of the aircraft appear to be uninjured, but will be examined by EMS at the scene.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, State Police Aviation, Dutchess County Airport Operations, New Hackensack Fire Department, and Transcare EMS.

There will be a press conference regarding the crash held at the Dutchess County Airport, 263 New Hackensack Road, at 12:30 p.m. this afternoon.
