Patterson, New York- On July 22, 2015, New York State Police from the Brewster Barracks arrested Denise Pimentel, 42 years old, of New Fairfield, Connecticut, for Grand Larceny 4thDegree, a Class E Felony.

Troopers were dispatched by Putnam County 911 to the Sacred Heart Church in the Hamlet of Putnam Lake.  When the officers arrived on scene, they were notified that $1,023 in cash, which represented the previous weekends donations from parishioners, had been prepared earlier in the day for deposit. A church employee had placed the cash in a desk drawer while completing other duties. The cash was discovered missing at approximately 10:00 a.m.

Investigation revealed that Pimentel, a volunteer at the church, had taken the cash.

Pimentel was arraigned at the Town of Patterson Court and remanded to Putnam County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond. Pimentel is due back in court on September 17, 2015 at 3:00 PM.
