Greetings Art Lovers:
Collaborations and partnerships are becoming more popular recently, and we are particularly proud of a great partnership that Arts Mid-Hudson has been involved with for the Dutchess Dragon Boat Races and Festival. Partnering with Dutchess Tourism and Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, together we have brought a fun, family friendly day of art, culture, and sport to the Poughkeepsie waterfront. Join us this Saturday and experience Chinese culture, Dragon Boat races with local teams, and the freshest food from local purveyors: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
This weekend also has Cocoon Theatre‘s No Name Performance Festival held at the lovely Cunneen Hackett Theatre space.
This Sunday, you can enjoy Seed to Sheet – Material Sourcing for Papermaking – a presentation by Ann Kalmbach, Executive Director and Co-Founder- Women’s Studio Workshop at Gomez Mill House in Marlboro at 1 p.m.
Arts Mid-Hudson has scheduled a series of five planning/networking sessions during August for individual artists, community groups and nonprofits to learn more about the Decentralization Grant Program. This is a great opportunity to brainstorm ideas and get feedback and find potential partners with which to apply. Get more information and sign up!
Save the date to meet Lisa Robb, Executive Director of the New York State Council on the Arts, who will hold a Q&A session on August 7 at Arts Mid-Hudson – RSVP right now to save your spot.
Best wishes for an art-filled week!
Linda Marston-Reid
