KINGSTON, N.Y. — A Marlborough man is facing a series of felony and misdemeanor charges after a traffic stop led to a foot pursuit and drug seizure in the City of Kingston, according to the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office.
Early Morning Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest
At approximately 12:20 a.m. on June 18, deputies pulled over a vehicle on Amy Kay Parkway for a traffic infraction. During the course of the stop, 24-year-old Nolan Casale, a passenger in the vehicle, fled the scene on foot. Deputies pursued and apprehended him a short distance away.
Drugs and Prescription Pills Recovered
Following Casale’s arrest, authorities say they recovered:

A quantity of cocaine

Multiple prescription pills believed to be controlled substances

Drug paraphernalia, including items used for packaging and distribution
Casale did not have a valid prescription for the pills, leading to multiple criminal possession charges.

The criminal contempt charge stems from alleged phone calls Casale made during processing to a protected individual listed in an active order of protection.
Bail Set; K-9 Assists Deputies
Casale was arraigned and subsequently remanded to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of:

$100,000 bond
Deputies were assisted at the scene by K-9 Howie, who helped with the search and apprehension.
