PRESS RELEASE

Wappinger, New York – On February 7, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested John Casino, 45 years old, of Wappinger, New York, for Assault 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony, Menacing 2nd Degree, a Class A Misdemeanor, and Harassment 1st Degree, a Class B Misdemeanor.

On February 7, 2015 at approximately 6:51 p.m., Troopers responded to a Wappingers home for a physical domestic dispute reported by Dutchess County 911. Investigation revealed that Casino menaced the victim with a hammer. When the victim attempted to leave the home and contact 911 for assistance, Casino slammed the door on the victim’s hand resulting in injury.

The victim was evaluated by responding EMS and denied needing any further medical treatment.

Casino was arraigned before the Town of Wappinger Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to re-appear in the Town of Wappinger Court on February 25, 2015 at 5:30 p.m.
