‘Dangerous’ Drug Sales Uncovered After Targeted Raid in Poughkeepsie Housing Complex

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — A months-long investigation into narcotics activity in a Poughkeepsie housing complex has led to the arrest of a local woman on multiple felony drug charges. Officials say the raid and arrest are part of a broader effort to combat dangerous drug sales in Dutchess County neighborhoods.

Task Force Cracks Down on Drug Activity in Corlies Manor

The Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office announced on June 18, 2025, that the arrest was the result of a targeted drug investigation focused on Corlies Manor, a public housing complex in the City of Poughkeepsie. The operation, spearheaded by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force, was aimed at curbing the distribution of dangerous narcotics in the community.

According to the DA’s press release, agents had received intelligence about suspected drug activity in and around Corlies Manor. The Task Force then conducted multiple controlled narcotics purchases from the suspect, leading to the establishment of probable cause for a search and arrest warrant.

Arrest of Felicia L. Griffin

As part of the coordinated operation, 44-year-old Felicia L. Griffin, a Poughkeepsie resident, was taken into custody without incident on Mansion Street. At the same time, Drug Task Force agents and deputies from the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol executed a search warrant at her residence on Muldowney Circle, within the Corlies Manor complex.

During the search, authorities recovered:

  • Multiple packages of cocaine, pre-packaged for distribution

  • Digital scales

  • Packaging materials commonly associated with drug sales

These items, officials say, are consistent with illegal narcotics trafficking operations.

Felony Charges Filed

Griffin is facing the following charges:

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd Degree (with intent to sell) – a Class B felony

  • Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 4th Degree – also a Class B felony

She was arraigned and, in accordance with New York State bail reform laws, was released under supervision of Probation pending further legal proceedings.

Ongoing Efforts to Disrupt Drug Trade

The Dutchess County Drug Task Force emphasized that this investigation reflects their ongoing commitment to disrupting drug sales that threaten the safety of Poughkeepsie neighborhoods.

“The Task Force will continue to hold accountable those individuals who traffic dangerous narcotics in our communities,” the agency stated in the release.

Law enforcement has identified Corlies Manor and surrounding areas as priority locations in their crackdown on illegal drug activity due to the public safety risks associated with narcotics trafficking.

Community Impact and Next Steps

Griffin’s arrest is part of a larger push by Dutchess County officials to reduce drug-related violence, overdoses, and crime in vulnerable areas. While the case is still under investigation, authorities are urging residents to report any suspicious activity to help ensure long-term neighborhood safety.
