Two Connecticut men arrested for felony drug possession

EASTON                                                                           WILLIAMSWashington, New York – On June 9, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested Stanley Easton, age 33, of Kent, Connecticut and Rondell Williams, 32 years old of Bridgeport, Connecticut, for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th Degree, a Class C Felony.  Easton was additionally charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle Impaired by Drugs, a Misdemeanor.Troopers were dispatched to a disturbance on Daniele Lane, just outside of the Village of Millbrook.  While patrolling the area, they observed a vehicle strike a parked car.  Troopers stopped to interview the driver of the vehicle who identified himself as Stanley Easton.  Although Easton was not the subjected police were looking for in connection with the complaint, investigating Troopers observed clues that he was impaired.  Easton was placed in custody after failing Standardized Field Sobriety Testing.

The passenger in the vehicle, Rondell Williams, began to act disorderly and was also detained.  While placing Williams in custody, the arresting Trooper observed several glassine envelopes at Williams’ feet believed to contain heroin.

State Police Canine Dora, assisted the investigation by searching the 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix at Troop K Headquarters.  A total of 60 glassine envelopes containing heroin were recovered from the suspects.

A State Police Drug Recognition Expert was also used to confirm that Easton was under the influence of drugs.

Williams and Easton were arraigned before the Town of Pleasant Valley Court by Judge Vasti and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.  They are due to return to the Town of Pleasant Valley Court on June 12, 2015.
