Kent Man Faces DWI, Drug Charges

Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the recent arrests of motorists on misdemeanor traffic charges. On May 30, 2015 at 4:54 a.m., Deputy Sheriff Thomas Lee stopped a motorist who had committed traffic violations on Terry Hill Road in the Town of Kent. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as John S. Cappelli, 23, of 109 Kent Shore Drive, Kent was intoxicated and under the influence of marijuana.

The deputy arrested Mr. Cappelli and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated and with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, misdemeanors; and with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, a violation. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and held pending arraignment.
