John Tripodo

ELIZAVILLE – John Christopher Tripodo, 54, a resident of Elizaville since 2002, passed away on May 27, 2015 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a courageous battle with cancer. He previously lived in Poughquag and Ossining.

Born in Ossining on December 12, 1960, he was the son of Salvatore J. Tripodo and the late Phyllis (Gonzalez) Tripodo. On July 8, 2000 in Highland, John married the love of his life, Lisa Randene Tripodo who survives at home. The two have been inseparable for the past 20+ years, and have spent many vacations together with their son, Vinny.

John had been employed as the Blacktop Foreman for Country Asphalt in Tarrytown where he worked for over 21 years. He was a member of the Mount Carmel Society in Verplanck and had been involved with the Cub Scouts in Ossining. John enjoyed music, world events, reading, beaches, and animals, but most of all he loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, John is survived by his son, Vincent Gambino of Elizaville; his father, Salvatore Tripodo of Elizaville; his mother-in-law, Maureen Randene of Elizaville; his sister, Sally Bumbolow and her husband Robert of Hopewell Junction; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Mary Randene of Florence, Italy; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mike and Amber Schoonmaker of Wappingers Falls; his nieces, Shannon and Melissa Bumbolow, Ashly and Rebekah Kaiser, Mickayla Schoonmaker, Ariana Randene, and Jaime, Katherine, and Alexandra Randene; and his nephews, Tommy Randene, and Andreas and Jemel Kaiser.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-6 pm at  895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 9:45am at St. Kateri Church, 1925 Route 82, Lagrangeville followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
