Putnam County Sheriff Donald B. Smith reports the arrest of a Stormville woman on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

On May 21, 2015 at 12:45 p.m., Deputy Sheriff Brian Aisenstat stopped a motorist who had committed a traffic violation on Route 9 in the Town of Philipstown. The deputy determined that the driver, identified as Alexandra A. Knapp, 25, of 341 South Green Haven Road, Stormville, New York held a suspended license. The deputy arrested Ms. Knapp and charged her with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a misdemeanor. The defendant was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and released after posting $250.00 bail pending a June 24, 2015 appearance in the Town of Philipstown Justice Court to answer the charge.

If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.00.
