Perotti seeks Second Term as Amenia’s Supervisor
Victoria Perotti recently announced that she is seeking a second two-year term as the Town of Amenia’s Supervisor. Perotti has worked hard during her first term to hold the line on taxes, keeping the tax rate well below the state mandated cap, and seeking out alternative revenue sources in the form of grants for important town projects. Listed below are some of her accomplishments and qualifications for reelection to the Town’s top post.
- 20 plus years as a resident of Amenia
- Elected Town of Amenia Supervisor in 2013. Elected to Amenia Town Board in 2005; Re-elected to Amenia Town Board in 2009.
- Served as Deputy Supervisor from 2010 to 2013, working with two Amenia Supervisors
- Graduate of Marist College with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in addition to earning an Associates in Business Administration from Dutchess Community College. Graduated from Webutuck High School.
- 25 years in Healthcare Business Administration with Management positions in Sharon and Kingston Hospitals.
- Member of Amenia Library Association, Indian Rock Schoolhouse Association, and Amenia Historical Society.
- As Supervisor established new financial internal controls for paying claims according to the Comptroller’s office guidelines
- As Supervisor implemented Comptroller’s office 2013 audit recommendations for employee accrued time records
- As Supervisor secured a non-matching CDBG $150,000 grant from Dutchess County to repair downtown sidewalks and build a sidewalk to Beekman Park to make Amenia more pedestrian-friendly.
- As Supervisor did the research for location of a new highway garage.
- As Supervisor moved Wassaic Trail to the Train project from Preliminary to Final Design for DOT review and comments.
- As Supervisor, worked with Old Amenia Landfill engineer, Dutchess County Soil & Water, and DEC to resolve erosion and vegetative cover problems.
- As Supervisor, had a heat loss analysis completed by a mechanical engineer for a proposal updating the Amenia Town Hall old boiler and heating system.
- As the Town of Amenia’s Chief Fiscal Officer, she has restored fiscal integrity by developing a town budget that has stabilized taxes while also seeking to invest in our community’s future.
“I believe strongly that the future of Amenia is bright,” she said. “I have only just begun to lay the groundwork for investing in infrastructure and quality of life improvements for all of our residents.”
