Obituary, William Reginald “Reg” Pulver, Jr.

Millerton – William Reginald “Reg” Pulver, Jr., 78, a lifelong resident of Millerton, NY died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Vassar Bros. Medical Center in Poughkeepsie, NY with his loving family by his side. Mr. Pulver was a bookkeeper for Best Foods in Poughkeepsie and a machine operator at Keuffel & Esser (K&E) for many years while working part time at Bloch’s Furniture and Trotta’s Market in Millerton prior to his retirement in 1987.

Born January 17, 1937 in Sharon, CT he was the son of the late William R. and Ann (Baldwin) Pulver, Sr. “Reg” was a graduate of Millerton High School, Class of 1954 and the Krissler Business Institute in Poughkeepsie, NY. On January 13, 1962 in Amenia, NY he married Nancy Miller. Mrs. Pulver survives at home.

“Reg” enjoyed listening to music on the radio and especially liked listening to country music and the sounds of Daniel O’Donnell singing country and Irish folk music. He also enjoyed watching sports on television. In his earlier years “Reg” was an avid bowler and belonged to a local league.

In addition to his wife of fifty three years, he is survived by his two sons, Wayne C. Pulver of Queens, NY and Daryl T. Pulver of Nashua, NH; a brother, Kenneth B. Pulver and his wife Peggy of Reno, NV; a sister in law, Shirley A. Robbins and her husband Fred of Cromwell, CT and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will take place on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 3:30-5 pm at 37 Park Avenue, Millerton, NY 12546. Funeral services will take place at 5 pm following calling hours. Rev. Kent Wilson will officiate. Burial will take place at Irondale Cemetery in Millerton, NY in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to the Millerton Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 733, Millerton, NY 12546.
