Beacon man charged following bank fraud investigation

On May 8, 2015, New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from the Wappinger barracks arrested Shason Burgess, age 22,  of Beacon, New York, for Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny 3rd Degree.An investigation conducted by police revealed that Burgess had deposited several forged checks into his checking account. Burgess then made cash withdrawals before the checks were returned as fictitious. As a result of Burgess’ actions, the credit union suffered a financial loss of over $11,000.

On May 11, 2015, Burgess was arraigned at the Town of Poughkeepsie Court and was remanded to Dutchess County Jail without bail.
