BEEKMAN – Gertrude Ann Wilson, 90, formerly of Syosset, died on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. Born in Flushing on July 2, 1924, she was the daughter of Milton and Helen Coates Wangenheim. Gertrude enjoyed knitting, traveling and most of all her grandchildren. She had been employed as a secretary at SUNY Old Westbury, NY.
Gertrude was predeceased by her husband, John Wilson; and her sister, Helen Rhodes. She is survived by her sons and their wives, James and Caridad Wilson of Berkeley Heights, NJ, Brian and Hollis Wilson of Poughquag, NY; her grandchildren, Jeffrey, Katherine, Jennifer and Elizabeth; and her brother, Richard Wangenheim and his wife Louise of Florida.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-8pm at 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
