SILVER SPRING, Md. – A 23-year-old man from Silver Spring is facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing his mother’s boyfriend during a domestic dispute last week in the White Oak neighborhood, police said.
The suspect, identified as O’Shea Hunter, has been charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, resisting arrest, and reckless endangerment following the incident.
According to the Montgomery County Police, officers responded to the 1500 block of November Circle on the afternoon of Wednesday, June 4, after receiving reports of a stabbing.
Investigators determined that Hunter got into a heated argument with his mother’s boyfriend. During the altercation, Hunter reportedly threatened the man with a fork, then escalated the situation by stabbing him in the chest with a multi-tool knife.
Police said the confrontation continued into a bedroom, where Hunter allegedly struck the victim with an expandable baton before fleeing the scene on foot.
Despite sustaining a laceration to the chest, the victim declined medical treatment at the scene.
Hunter was located shortly afterward in the 11300 block of Lockwood Drive, where he reportedly jumped over a fence in an attempt to evade officers. He was eventually taken into custody and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is currently being held without bond.
The investigation remains ongoing.
